Convert a Handwritten Table to Excel
A handwritten log, ledger, or tally sheet doesn't have to be retyped by hand. Photograph it and we'll read the rows and columns back into an editable spreadsheet — faster than typing, even with the touch-ups handwriting usually needs.

Be honest with yourself about handwriting accuracy
Handwriting is the hardest input for any OCR tool to read perfectly, ours included. It isn't magic — it's a best-effort read that gets you most of the way there, with the editable preview as the step that catches what it got wrong. Clear, printed letters on a flat, well-lit page give it the best chance; messy cursive or faint pencil will need more correcting afterward.
Nothing is stored
Your photo is sent to our OCR provider only to extract the table and isn't kept on our servers afterward. The spreadsheet is generated right in your browser.
Handwritten table to Excel — FAQ
How accurate is OCR on handwriting?+
Lower than on printed text, and it's worth saying plainly rather than overselling it. Clear block letters and well-spaced numbers extract reasonably well; cursive, cramped columns, or faint pencil are much harder for any OCR engine, ours included. The editable preview is there specifically for this — review every cell before downloading rather than assuming it's correct.
What kind of handwriting works best?+
Printed (block) letters space out more predictably than cursive, so they tend to extract more reliably. Dark ink or pencil on plain paper, photographed straight-on in even light, gives the OCR the clearest possible input. Shadows, glare, and tilted angles are the most common causes of a messy result.
Is my photo stored anywhere?+
No. Your image is sent to our OCR provider to extract the table and isn't saved on our servers or in any database. The Excel file is generated in your browser, not uploaded anywhere else.
What file types and sizes are supported, and is it really free?+
JPG, PNG, GIF, or WebP images up to 10MB each. No account needed for 5 conversions every 12 hours.
